I can do that.
I can remove the ATA passwords for very old native Hitachi, IBM/Hitachi based (M24 Arch) and ARM based HGST, but .... you would have to ship the drive to me (Portugal).
My unlocking service :

IBM/Hitachi that i've done recently :
ARM - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=2060
M24 - http://www.hddoracle.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=2072
And if you don't want to pay/ship the drive .... you can try the free ZU :

What is the full model of the drive ?

ZU Not working
A $350 SeDiv can do it !!!
If you want to pay shipping costs to me I can do that as well.
Or i bet someone in India will pop up and say for you to ship the drive to them ...

Non-ARM 2.5 Hitachi/IBM uses the same procedure for unlocking that ARM uses.

Spildit wrote:If you keep the PCB on the drive the ATA PWD lock will prevent NVRAM access. Once you gain modules access by changing nvram to SA-C you just replace the security module.

a) Ok, but i think ZU needs for PCB to be removed....
b) Yes, i did find some drives without a clean security module. I copied one from another unlocked drive and it did work.
c) Factory SA. Copy "F" - When you set "NV-RAM" byte from "01" to "00" so that drive boots without password and allow access to SA/modules.
