This is a joke isn't it?

Hi

2. hdd not start writing.
Any solution for this ?

For unlocking DVR lock ,
you can simply take a donor ROM,
Copy all Patient CP to donor ROM and write to hard disk.
I think i am missing some things, because of this drive disable Read lookahead, and disable writing.
Don't know where is wrong.
May b need to transfer some part of patient ROM to Donor, other then CPs.
By the way, i msg you on skype, i think you are not online
here is my skype ID =

Yes Exatly
After that the Drive is Read only.
Reading ok with disabled read lookahead.
writing impossible.
after transfer the CP from patient to donor, hdd show pwd.
Unlocked the PWD done.
after that the above condition is appeared.
i also test this on Normal Toshiba MQ01ABD050 drive working fine
I just shift all CP to donor ROM
This hdd also give same condition , Write disabled, and read with disabled look ahead.
It seems that we need to do some changes in the CP or need shift some part of ROM also in to the Donor rom.
Then it will work ok
Kind Regards

IIUC, the same read-only problem occurs when CPs from a "non-DVR" patient are transferred to a non-DVR donor. If so, then I would suspect that there may be a bug in the tool that is reading and writing the CPs. This was demonstrated in other threads.
Could we see before-and-after ROM dumps from the DVR and non-DVR drives? Could we also see the CPs that were extracted from each of the patients?

Heh, this i also have the same symptom in Toshiba ABD series
Also My disk is ABD050. FW AX001U.
Read Work fine, write no.

If the OP managed to read all the CPs without error (ie no bad checksums), then which tool did he use?

Could we see your ROM? CPs?

Both ROM's should be of same FW revision. Did you check that?
FW Version: AM0P2C0

you can simply take a donor ROM,

It is doubtful that DVR lock is associated with CP.

donor ROM code + patient CPs -> patient ROM

Installing DRV lock is unlikely to change CP
Does the installation of PUIS or standart ata. PWD change CP?

Spildit wrote: i would start with the VSC to re-initialize ATA password module and then change the options on that VSC to see if i could clear the password. I would try "FF" as well ....
Example, you go from 01 to 04 to clear password, S.M.A.R.T. , etc and you have FF to "renew drive". I would try to "brute force" all the space from 04 to FF to see if any would "clear" any extra sector / module like DVR lock...
I doubt DRV lock is related to S-mod
Moreover, there are discs Toshiba blocking VSC (Wipe Technology) IE bruteforce will not help
But any lock can be removed through the terminal:) If of course it is available (and it can also be blocked)

That is not what the OP is saying. AIUI the OP is trying to defeat the DVR lock by using ROM code from a donor and the CPs from the patient, his reasoning being that the lock is in the code, not in the CPs. That is, he is replacing locked patient
code with unlocked donor
code, not locked CPs with unlocked CPs.

I got it. Thank you.
But I don't think the method will work.

Maybe not S-mod, but the sector next to it... And it can be init, too....

Right. But it's not CP and no rom-code
By the way, so
No need to know any commands to reset GList and pwd.
Only PBA access is required
