I have a problem with a PCB of 4d040h2 when i plug that pcb to any drive it starts clicking and after i remove that pcb and plug a completly functional one
it start working fine . I want to know what could be the problem with the PCB .
Below i am attaching a picture of a 4d040h2 pcb please tell me which componenet could cause such a problem . So i can replace it .

Did you try to replace of IC SH6770C, that is the power cotrol?

i will try it thanks . Could there be problem in the Agere m5453 thats the spindle controller chip ?

Hi,

U are wrong :)
the agere IC is the reading/writing channel.
U should check the -5V power line if the drive is clicking with only this PCB.
I think somebody in DR businnes should have at least basic electronic education to recognize the parts, engineer level is recommended...

thanku for ur reply if there is problem with the 5V power line then i should chek the DC-DC convertor .

I mean yes, check the converter wether it produces a stable -5V for the preamp!

normally from this IC SH6770C hdd click specially 4d0 .
PLS check from other pcb number B9FDA or B9FDB

firmware cod : DAHO17K0
