Hi

I tried all preamp available types.
Although main rom moduls without CRC errors I analyzed the rom content.
I found one bit which does not appear in any of the dozens of rom I checked.
When I changed the bit to the value that appears in the others(it's the same in everyone in that family),so no more clicking but there are these errors:
Boot 0x80M
TCC:001F

SimError - Remaining in BootFW
Perform a double download without a power cycle.

I checked, these errors are because eight lines within the SAP.
But in these eight lines there are many possibilities.

I will pay for a solution.

Head map are correct.
Drive ID with capacity -1 (8796093022208.00 GB) in this state it is not possible to perform any action so I can't disable Media Cache.
I changed one bit at offset 802F6(SAP 2F6) from 89 to 09 and it stop click but can't ID.
Besides I found that 99% of sap you can take from donor and somehow to get access to the drive only 1% need to be original in this case I have a problem with that 1%.

Thanks

you drive has rare heads, check if the heads vendor is marked "alternative" instead of "default" in pc3k rom dialog.
very likely your drive is "alternative" and all the donors are "default".

you'd need correct heads vendor for the donor

I don't have pc3k only MRT and sediv can I get vendor information via terminal? (it doesn't appear in the Ctrl + l command).
Is there preamp type in addition to c2 87 82 ?

Thanks

Just find a donor that has this bit.
It is not an easy find though.

You also can use microscope to check the sliders, they will be different on the original and donors that you used.

No, there are only three
But your problem is not the preamp.

Change the bit back, the drive won't read any data anyway, only servo.
You can't trick the drive like this unfortunately. You have to have correct heads.

Here is the rom if you can write it to your donor and turn it on for half a second to see if donor clicks.
If not, then please PM me a quote for donor.
