What tools do you have available to you?

hello,
I only have TTL adapter with level shifter. I was able to get in before, but now even if I get F3> it doesn't accept any commands

Hello, thank you for reply, I only have USB to TTL adapter and 1.8V level shifter. Using realterm to connect

So,
I did:

C>U2 (regenerate MCMT and MC)
m0,6,2,,,,,22 (most commonly used to regenerate translator)

Now it seems to be about alright:

ø
Boot 0x40M

Spin Up
RECOV Servo Op=0100 Resp=0005

Trans.

Spin Up
RECOV Servo Op=0900 Resp=0005

(P) SATA Reset

Problem is that slip list and P list are extremely long. I am tempted to do following:

T>i4,1,22 (clears G-List)
1>G6A (clear P-List - Not Recommended!)
m0,2,1,,,,,22 ( To rebuilt slip list, V1 )
m0,D,3,,,,,22 ( Format user area partition with repairing of bad sector, auto add bad sector into G list and in the last it will be shifted to P list )

Will this work? There are none data anymore as m0,D,3,,,,,22 failed previously (I think so G list got overfilled)

Any Ideas welcome

what is your purpose? recover data or use the drive?

Hello, thank you for reply.
At the beginning I was trying to save data, most of it I did save, now I am trying to bring drive back to life

:D HDD fixed, all sectors green :D

I did:

T>i4,1,22
T>m0,6,2,,,,,22
T>m0,2,3,,,,,22
1>N1
C>U2
T>m0,3D,,,,,,22

Commands was executed in order them are listed. !!!!All data will be destroyed!!!!
It do Spin up without errors, SMART shows 100% health, I will upload write/read test results when HDD Sentinel finnish testing.

Thats good. It looks like a factory pre-conditioning commands they run when they build the drives... The thing is to make sure there is no bad heads or the drive does not develop bad sectors while being used. That being said, I did do something like this before with a 2tb drive before because a bad sector developed in a very important part of the drive and rendered it unusable, but doing some of the above commands got it working without any problems. Although all the data was wiped. I did have backup.

Good job

Just a warning that the commends used will wipe all data, so better not use them if trying to recover data.

I could be doing the OP a disservice, but I expect the drive is already listed on Ebay.

Problem now is that it didn't bypass all bad sectors, anybody knows how to do that manually?

I forgot to mention, there was problem with level shifter, I was using simple one that I found on this forum (diodes and resistors)
Level shifter - resistors 10k !!!.jpg
It only worked time to time. I've got transistor based ready-made voltage translator, that one works 100%, just 1,8V supply need big capacitor (I've used 1000uF/6.3V)
s-l1600.jpg

And I am using CH341a programmer, with 1.8V adapter and NeoProgrammer it can read and write bios chip (I did test that, so no more soldering), in serial mode it needs that voltage translator.

As there seems to be serious physical damage, I was tempted to replace platers, but, there is system area on them....

Will PCB bios create it automatically when regenerating tables {C>U2 (regenerate MCMT and MC)} and translator {m0,6,2,,,,,22 (most commonly used to regenerate translator)}?

Or is there any other way?

If I get support I'll try it, as only one plater is damaged, so I can get another broken drive...

From all sources that I found, I assembled this command m0,41,3,7,7,,,22
It should use both G and P list and skip physically bad sectors, fingers crossed
