I am trying to recover 2 types of files for a recovery job. One is an old Quattro Pro file with an extension of .qpw and the other is a Flash file with an extension of .fla (not .flv).

I found some documentation for the .fla file and created the following for use with PhotoRec:

extension offset header signature
fla 0 0xD0CF11E0A1B11AE100000000000000000000000000000000

This is my first time using a PhotoRec custom signature, so the above may not be the correct format.

I have not had any luck with finding documentation on the .qpw file. The most I have found is related to a different file type associated with Quattro.

Does anyone here know the correct signatures to use for recovering these 2 file types? I have researched this quite a bit, but have found very little.

I suggest to use Winhex / Easy recovery instead. You can add customer signatures easily.

I may have the original software. I know I have the original manuals. Would that help?

I recommend you to try R-Studio. The article Creating a Custom Known File Type for R-Studio explains how to find a correct file signature, and its help Customizing File Types explains how to add it to R-Studio.
