Help With WD800BB-00CCB0

January 17th, 2006, 17:16

Hi,

i have a WesternDigital WD800BB-00CCB0 that is playing up

orginally it would boot windows, but crash with errors
most of the data seemed to be in good condition

i ran a surface scan on the disk which picked up bad sectors
now after the scan the drive does not appear to have any data on it
i cannot restore mbr / partition table
Some of the diag s/w is reporting it cant read sector 0,
MHDD scan reports SSSS just lots of S's flooding the screen, not sure what that means

Any one have any clues as to what is wrong or if it can be repaired

Thanks
Lance

The drive has a problem with the translator. You have to regenerate it.
