No, the
disk is not reporting that. I don't see where you explain your recent actions, but you must have chosen to use some software and
that software is reporting the error message that you gave, based on its (correct or incorrect?) diagnosis of the disk's behaviour. Since you have chosen to do DIY, you are now relying on the diagnosis of your chosen software, so your questions might be better sent to the supplier of that software...

I give up. First the disk is reporting WD 800 with 0 LBA and now something else. Looks like all good advise is ignored and nothing you say now can help him. I have told him more than once what is wrong with his disk. Each true statement is changed and some other software is suggested to use on this one. Money is wasted and thrown in the trash and could of already had back your data if you had listened. It is a waste of our time to go on like this with you and if good advice is not taken then please contact who ever you bought this progam from or follow what Franc has said to you and contact him in private and go on with your DIY efforts alone. I think a simple recovery and repair has turned into a trashed efforts on your part. You could of done and I suggested and ask the guy in Egypt to help you out. At first it looked like you were diong this one. Now who knows what you want and what you will do. But for me I am done to try and help you out when you can not listen to good advise and what is said to you on this one. sorry hope you and Franc can get back your data now.

Ann, I don't think the OP has touched his drive, nor has he bought any software, or wasted any money. AIUI, he is still exploring his options. One of these options is to read his drive's firmware modules. As you very well know, this is perfectly safe to do. And best of all, it's free.
ISTM that the most appropriate approach is to help the OP as much as we can with his DIY efforts, just as I do in every other forum. Only after we have exhausted all DIY avenues should we start suggesting professional alternatives.
BTW, I prefer to help people publicly rather than privately. In that way more people can benefit. In fact I suspect that the OP's problem may have a simple solution which has potentially wide ramifications. That's why I am prepared to make the effort to investigate it, should the OP wish to do so.

More you try DIY more risk you have of turn a easy fix in a more complicated issue.

Chances are the damage extends further than SA damage, and partial ID is made from ROM only.
AFF repair station should be able to look at the HDD, but I think will not help solve the problem.
Ideally a good diagnosis is needed. If one cant be made, send it to a pro who can do it for you.

If the drive indeed stays busy, then there is nothing Repair Station or any other utilities can do without some further intervention first
