Maybe try "SB FF" or "SB FE" ???

Have you tried the "PK" command? Would this have anything to do with autoparking ???

Please don't blame me if you break anything. :-)

If you continue playing with terminal that way you'll brick the drive for good...

P.s. some features and parameters can be soft or hard encoded into firmware.

I've discovered the drive does not read very well, so the drive is only for playing around with. Not worried if I brick it.

SB FF does something, but not sure what, any commands sent after that is just garbage. Have to reset to get the drive to work again in putty.

SB FE Seems to do nothing but display E:0002 - Inv Prm. Here is a copy of the log.

Entering PK will park the heads. Here is a log of the drive while I was playing a AVI movie file off it.

Anyway to run the drive through its self test stuff like with the Seagate drives. I want to know how healthy the heads are. I think the read heads are week, probably due to all the standby attempts its done.

You can test heads for functionality but the problem may be the surface, so it is pointless. I see it hard to do without resources, though...
