I've got a WD800JD-75MSA1 that is doing the standard western digital click and spin down. I have solved this issue a number of times with a PCB swap (with ROM of course) but this particular one is proving difficult to find the right PCB. The original PCB is 2060-701335-003 Rev B. All of the similar boards I have in the basement are 2060-701335-005 Rev A. This is the first time I've encountered a western digital PCB that is similar except for different last number and revision. The PCB swap with this board does not help, even after uploading the ROM.
Anyone have any experience with this? Would you expect the PCB to work fine, or do I need to keep looking for an -005 Rev A PCB?
Thanks for the input.

Yes, should work. Won't hurt for sure.

Yeah, I guess that the alternative if its not a PCB issue is a heads problem which means alignment problems and all of that not fun stuff...

It should be fairly easy to work on this drive.
Need help? I can help.

Would this not fall into the category of WDs where the heads lose alignment when you take the lid off?
