SEAGATE 7200.10 WITH 3 PLATES

Hi to all,


I have a question that goes to the people of this forum to recover data. I have a Seagate hard drive with 3 plates to be damaged the motor shaft, so I should get a donor and make the change. But this disc has the plates separated by a plastic base, so it could not use the extraction plates. If the plates are removed one by one, lose sync? This drive data could be recovered? or any procedure would not work.

The very fact you do not know enough about alignment suggests you should seek professional assistance

Dont move those platters separately or the drive is lost forever.
All three platters have to be moved at the same time keeping the exact alignment.

Don't even think about opening that drive! if you really want to DIY it, spend £5000 on a platter extraction system (i've heard its fantastic! ) or send it to a pro who could do it for $1000 possibly less.

I hope you can help me with my query. when a disk has three platters and this are separated by one base. This base does not allow me to use the HD HPE PRO salvation data. What is the procedure for moving these plates to another motor?

Even if u take off all platters without missalignment, could be another problem after the PE , by his reason u need to send to a Proof DR Company .

For moving such platters newer tools are neccessary, but beto is right; it could well be there are other problems too. I wont disencourage you to try, but be aware that its on your own risk and that DR companies dont like to work on disks that have been tampered with.
You are the judge of how much you data is worth.

I feel sorry for the poor smuck who sent his hard drive in to your company. I think you have no business calling yourself a data recovery company. Maybe a software only computer forensics company but not data recovery.

The secret is moving the platters together as one, without losing alignment. It's that simple.

If you are unable to deal with platter alignment on a 7200.10 then maybe you should reconsider your career. To be a competent DR company dealing with problems such as this should be relatively simple for you.

well this is the DR Industry , a lot of people here spend a lot of his life, doing research ,developments and lot of money to get that knowledgment

That's your mistake
This forum is for people who are willing to communicate and help each other
Since you cannot help anyone on this forum (because your knowledge level is poor) - you will no get any help from others (most likely)
If you want to get knowledge you need to analyze "raw data" from this forum (which is free but takes time) or pay somebody for exact solution (which is not free but saves time)
I guess you wouldn't disagree with "time is money"
