how can i check to see if the board on my drive is the correct one.
this is the case

iWD 10EACS -OOD6BO drive manufactured in september 2008(donor)

WD10EACS-OOD6B1 drive manufactured in Novemebr 2008 (patient)
the boards are different

i have 2 other drives WD10EACS-OOD6BO manufactured in October and August 2004 ad they have the same board as the drive manufactured in September 2008.

i find it strange that my patient has a different board on it,

the patient is B1 as opposed to B0 does this indicate board revision numbers ?

this drive has been to someone else before it came to me

how can i test this.

Thank you

Have you tried manually recreating the ROM from the SA?

hi
thank you for the reply

i installed a donr board and got the drive to go ready but will not id and so on
i was able to backup all modules form the patient drive with the donor board, and backup all rom modules.

i tried using the recreate rom from sa, pointed to module 107, it wrote all modules correctly and the drive will still not id, after the above step is carried out the drive does not become ready.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, do i need to use the hot swap method possiubly in this case?

thank you

You should make a new topic instead of posting an unrelated question in someone else's...

Do you want to swap the PCB first? If so, find a matched PCB said 2060-701590-000 REV A, and do the rom swap. I think you have the special equipment to re-write the Rom program.
