 Post subject: pliz help momentus 5400.6 not working

had my hard drive which i accidentally dropped down.i tried to repair it .it was producing tit tit sound.after repair,it is seen using the device manager as an external drive but when you check properties it reads zero mbs.it is an external hard drive.it can not be seen when you use my computer icon.am using Windows xp.pliz assist me i want it working.by now it is fine but reads zero mbs

U can get victoria and MHDD on hirens boot disk. Just google it. But i dont think it will help u much m8. Sry.

previously my hard drive was producing tik tak sounds .so i opened the drive and took out the spindles ,adjusted the spindles then closed the harddrive.the hard drive stopped to produce the tik tak sound.but now it can detected but it can not be seen under my computer.it is detected in the device manager.it is seen with zero mb .please assist me

If you moved even few mm. the platters, cylinder / 'index'/skew alignment is lost. At this point probably with 5'000 dollars you have chances, otherwise data is gone forever.
