Samsung HS080HR 1,8'' 0 bytes

August 23rd, 2011, 6:05

Hi all, i have a Samsung HS080HR 1,8'' which when you plug it with USB its recognised by windows, at administration managment shows its capacity, but its empty 0 bytes. i tried to use R-studio and EASEUS Data Recovery but its not recognised.
when i use Atola or DDI or PC3k it is not recognised at all. is there something wrong with the adapter i use? any suggestions?

thank you in advance

To rule out a connection set up issue, connect a known working drive with the same interface and see if it works correctly.

i have an identical drive which works perfectly. i tried to put it on the PC3K, DDI and Atola but couldn't be recognised. i am thinking of doing a head swap but thats my last option. i don't think it could help

If you ran your perfectly working donor on all these tools and it is not recognized, then the connection is not set up correctly.

You're not very clear about if your donor is working fine with Atola or PC3K.

the donor drive works perfectly when you connected directly to the pc. it is not recognised either at Atola or PC3k. i supose its the connection.

Probably you got some wrong connection.

I think you should first get the good working drive to power up fine in PC3K and then start with the patient.

yes i think the same thing. but apart from the usual connection with a classic adaptor http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ZIF-CE-1-8-ID ... 141wt_1026 i cannot think of anything else. is there any 'special' adaptor for samsung drives?

I don't have any of those here to test, but that's odd.
Have you talked with Ace about it? To know if there's any problem with those.
