WD RAPTOR WD800ADFS-75SLR2 SA PROBLEM

October 20th, 2011, 4:59

Hi Guys,

I got a WD RAPTOR WD800ADFS-75SLR2 that in the begining have modules damaged in copy 0 and in the initial log on the PC3000 in the family when he read the SA have a Translator problem.

Modules damaged in copy 0:
44 glist "A"
25 rbblist Translator "A"
2E dfpdata SMART parameters table "B"
14 mrdvt "B"
29 drmlog SMART "c"
2D drmalter SMART "C"
21 eventlog "B"
FA Selfscan test microprogram "Dr"

I backup all the modules (copy 0 and 1) and the copy 1 all the modules here good.
I write the copy 1 for 0 and he give's me the log "ok", and when i turn off/on and try to detect the family he give's me an error on the techno key.
So now its worst, i can't be in the utility and work in SA.
Any one knows what is the problem our have seen something like this?

Best Regards,

"Most likely heads."

Hi harddrivespecialist, i forgot to menction that in the begining i don't have acess to sectors, i thoght because the drive became with factory password. I clear the pass but was the same. then i make the steps in the first post.
I don't hear any noise when the drive spins and try to read the SA.
First of all, try to clean the heads?

Thanks for the reply.

I don't think cleaning will help you.
What are you trying to achive? You need data or working drive?

You have to use different approach.

If you have advanced DR tools, I would suggest to read a manual.

Well, if translator is bad, then no access to user data.

Although not always reliable, have you tried running a "heads test" in the utility?
