thx networks

by the way, i found the drive UNSCREWED of the HEAD base while client gave the hdd. (may be he tried to open the hdd, or opened the hdd) client can't clarify this one. he gave the drive to local tech there before giving me.

Is it possible to know if it was opened in normal environment (Not in Clean Room)?

PS: I don't have Clean Room here, so i m not going to open this to check. I will give idea about pricing to go for outside of Bangladesh to take service in clean room.

I don't know of any method to discover if the drive was "not" opened in a clean room. With the info you have I would assume it has been opened. you should be able to tell based on the top cover screws if that is what you meant by the term "head base" ?

Also most of the times, if a drive has been opened in a non-clean environment, then if you examine the surface with a microscope, you can clearly see particles of dust. Sometimes they're visible with bare eye.
But, that would mean you would have to open the drive to check, which is something you don't want to do, as you said.

You are right. I don't want to open physically to check as I don't have the CR here. Just want to advice and help the client for having his data back.
