I have a Segate Momentus 5400.6 ST9500355AS y external Freagent to Go unit
The disk start to slow copy a failing and window dosen't reconize until conect again.
After that i disamseble and conet via sata and try to probe whith mhdd hdreg hdat2 etc and the behabior for all are the same
The disck in erase or repair operation in any sector that you start the frist sectors are read
and after all sectors are marked as bad.
In mhdd that permit's hot plug (I belive read somewhere) when the drive is not reconize or says not ready
I plug and unplug and the disk let me do eid id and other comands
In the secure erase of mhdd is the same star erase from any sector and fail after a litle time
device not ready again if try any command replug and reconize again.
No click noise of any type.

Sorry if i redundant I'm not english speaker.

What you get on the link is a saved firmware from a similar disk.

MOREOVER , it won't help you fixing your disk for re-use because each disk is "unique", you simply can't borrow the FW from other disk , it is not a DVD or a cell phone.

OK i'll forget pc-3000,
So there is not profesional atention in my country.
I can try something to fix the disk, anyway noone whill repair it if I don't?
I just one the disk not the data

Find a pro near you who can fix the disk for a nominal fee , if possible. Nothing else.
