This WD3200AAJS stays BSY (busy) on PC3000 until
the red ERR light comes and then stops spinning.

I saved all the resources of the Donor controller card.

I put the Patient card on the Donor HDA and it becomes
Ready (after some clicking). It is identified properly as
Pinclite model, but can only start in Kernel mode with-
out errors. I am able to save the ROM and ROM modules
from the Patient controller to the database.

With the Donor card on the Patient HDA, I tried the
"ROM recovery" selection from the Tests menu. It starts
to run but fails halfway through because one of the
steps is to re-power of the drive - which fails because
nd that fails and the drives is BSY once more.

I reversed the procedure and was able to repair the
Donor card using Rom recovery.

I opened the HDA in our clean room and everything
looks brand new and perfect.

Now, I'm stuck.

Can someone offer me a next step??

Thanks!

-Oy

It seems drive has problems with modules in the SA. Typically mod 11, at least.

Thank labtech. Any idea how to fix it? - based on the current
state, I admit I'm lost here.

You claim you have PC3000. Should be fairly easy in theory.
Not sure what resources you have, but the first step is confirm mod 11 is the problem.

Thanks again labtech.

Yes I have it, but I only get kernel mode to
read ROM modules and 11 isn't one of them.

I cannot get to the SA, which is where mod
11 resides, I guess.

what would you do next...

How can he use LOADER while the HDD is BSY? Hotswap might help.

As far as I recall, this is ready state with ERR. Could use loader in this scenario.
Could be wrong... Perhaps OP wants to post of picture or clarify.

Does the patient drive stay spinning with the donor PCB?
