WD2500AAJS strange case ?

October 21st, 2014, 11:45

Hello ,

customer claims that he just disconnected this drive to replace it with bigger capacity drive , after a while he tried to conect it again to get some data , and drive is not detected ..

drive is WD2500AAJS-08B4A0

it clicks couple times before register DRDY and DSC , nothing can be read after that .

entering kernel mode , will allow me to read only mod01 , then drive will spin down . heads map is 0.1
heads are OK ,

trying to read tracks , i will barely be able to read couples ..

any hints ?
althought the customer will not handle FW corruption recovery fees, but accepted to test on the drive ( data dont worth it )

thanks

If data don't worth it, why waste your time?

Anyways, have you tried to hotswap?

Does the drive spin down when it goes to DRD DSC?
