Hi

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB and I get the following message through terminal when it powers on. Any suggestions? It only started happening when I ran a selfscan via terminal and then stopped the selfscan as it was taking forever. Cheers

Interface task reset

PUMA - 1_Disk 0.07 09-26-04 14:00
Head Mask FFFF - Switch to full int.
Spin Ready

(P)(H)SATA Reset

Thanks but I'm using this as a learning curve so I'm going to try and do it. Thanks for the first post though I'm re-running the selfscan as suggested and will let it complete.

Will the ATA overlay and VENDOR get re-written at the end of the self test?

OK. I ran the self test and let it complete and the error has gone. I now am getting "Not Interface Age!".

Can you advise? Thanks for your help by the way!

Thanks. What if I didn't back up the ATA track to begin with? Do I need to source the firmware from another identical drive?
