Hi everyone, my Western Digital HDD start make strange things... form last week it slow my computer like never! it's 2Tb hdd and on task manager i can see it working constantly at 90%.. i can't do nothing... so i try to connect with usb interface and now stops to work at 90% but i can't see partition table and data.. i can only access with data RAW tools readers.... is it somethings bad on logic board? maybe the firmware? (it seems everythings is good on disks surface after long scan) can you provide a solution i wanna understand what's uppened! thank's! :)

Hi! Doesn't look like firmware (or maybe slow responding error) or PCB problem. I guess it could be partition (NTFS, FAT, other?) corruption. What tools have you already used ? How much time did long scan take?

Best!

Hi!

4 days seems to be a long time for a scan. Probably you have a slow responding problem. Does the hdd show correct ID and Serial number? What do you see in windows drives manager?

Are you trying to do a image file (clone your hdd to a file) or a raw recovery (look for files in your hdd and ectract them by extension type)? If it is the second choice, could you extract some healty files? Can you upload a screen shoot of what you are doing?

As it has been said several times:

Remember DIY has its pros and cons, if data is important it is better to send drive to a DR Comapny

R-Studio sees your NTFS partition, what happend if you double click on it?. You are creating a image file. If your HDD is 2TB capacity you will generate a 2TB image file.

yes of course i decide to create the image file to secure partition and structure on my backup drive via USB external interface... but if i connect with sata directly to my motherboard i can't use it! the system process start to use all the bandwidth! (and keep it really slow) and i can't acces the drive..... i don't have a screen right now maybe i will send you later... i can't try click on it but i'm sure i can expand directories from the structure tree.

What about "Current Sector Pending Count" and "Off-Line Uncorrectable Sector Count" voices from HDD Sentinel?? Are these ok?

ok during copy there was only one damaged sector, sure that MFT is corrupted, i'm doing a raw image but not a bit to bit copy on another hdd (cause i don't have right now)... so you Do you think that make my system slow on S-ATA connection cause of ReLo List? mha... when i complete raw image i will look what can i do with a linux live distro..Thank's (i really don't know why if i connect it with S-ATA.. everithings block and run slowly... with workload at 90%.. no noize come from hdd, only head noize normal operations... )

Done... image is created.. i'm sure now MFT is gone and Both Boot sector and Mirror Boot sector are gone too.. what can i do so? i can see on the image the $MFT and $MFTMirror files ... but is there any way to understand where is locate on the disk to start scan from there or wait for testdisk recover it ?
