Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi all. I have this Toshiba MQ01ABD100H 1TB 2.5" laptop HDD that IDs nicely on PC3K,
does everything a drive should, except I get all RED squares in Data Extractor.
As well, on DDI, the drive IDs but no data can be read.
I have cleared the G-List as suggested with other Toshiba drives in this condition.
This is a newer model, on the market not even 3 years, and I'm not familiar with
what else could be wrong.
Any help appreciated.

We can fix these drives with NAND issues, but can you show terminal output during power up?

Hi Mike. No, there is NO terminal output during power-up.
But, the Terminal works because the Red light flashes while saving ROM via Terminal, for example.
And, anything you type is echoed in Terminal, after it prints a ">" character.
