I thought you needed the first three letters of the model and/or the complete part number?

And Site Code?

Not "
or", as I learned recently with this drive. Donor Drives' criteria say:
Hard Drive Match Criteria (for Head Stack Assembly replacement or Platter Swap).
1. Full Model Number. Example: ST9640320AS, ST31000528AS
2. Site Code. Example: TK, AMK, KRATSG, WUXISG
3. Full part number or first 3 characters in serial number.
Example: 9Y7389-301, 9JU138-302, 5MA84KC2, 9ND29XWG
4. Firmware. Example: CC44, 0005HPM1
But if the first 3 characters of the serial number don't match, you may end up with the wrong number of heads.

Larry. Not sure if I understand you. Do you mean I need both P/N and first three letters of the S/N?

You need the first three characters of the serial number, as well as other parameter matches. I understand that a variety of criteria as feasible, some of which one would never guess appropriate.
Here are HDDSupplier's criteria:
Head Stack Assembly Exchange Part Requirements
1. First part of model number and 2 or 3 middle characters of the second part. Example: WD6400AAKS-65A7B0, WD10TMVW-11ZSMS1
2. Country of Manufacturer. Example: Product of Malaysia or Made in Thailand
3. DCMs 5th character. Try matching 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th character if possible. Example: EANNHV2MA
4. Closest date of manufacture possible. Preferably within 3 months.

Hy
From my experience if the model firmware and site code are the same you have a good patient.
As the site code changes it will also change the serial number, and of course head map.

Hello ddrecovery!
Here it is what i mean:
"According to fzabkar in Seagate: Forums: 2TB ST2000DM001 Barracuda from Seagate seriously cripled through redesign in 3/2012 or 4/2012, the S/N (serial number) on the label of your Seagate Desktop HDD ST2000DM001 contains information about the number of plates.
Check the third character of the S/N, F is 3 while E is 2 platters.
The first character of the S/N is the manufacture of head stack components.
S – SU – Suzhou in China
W – WU – Wuxi in China
Z – TK – Teparuk in Thailand"
