Lacie drives - confused about AC adapters

I have 2 Lacie drives unused for many years but I don't know which power supply goes with which drive! There is only 1 amp difference - does that matter?

Anyway, the 2 drives are:

Lacie d2 Quadra V3
Model number: LAC301549EK

Lacie d2 USB3
Model number: LAC301526


and the 2 power supplies are:


WA-36A12
LaCie PN:AP 713707
output: 12v 3A


WE-24E12
LaCie PN:AP 713709
output: 12v 2A


Which goes with which?

It's not important.
If you plug the 3A on a drive that only requires 2, it will use those 2A and that's fine.

But, if I remember this right, 2A are the usual on all drives, so it will be OK.

Use the 2A for the single drive
3A for the two drives unit (if the storage unit uses 2 drives inside)

Einstein9, they are both single drives. The Quadra has 4 outputs: USB3, eSATA, and 2 x Firewire 800, and the other one just 1 x USB3.

Logic would suggest the Quadra is 3A, but I take pclab's point. I am just being ultra-cautious.

Most normal 3.5" drive external drives comes with 1.5A, If 2 drives (USB/Firewire...etc they use 2A & 3A)

If you use the 2A for the single drive it should work even the 3A will work

Then When can i use the 3A on a 2A storage?

Well if your storage has for example USB connection which allows connecting EXTRA drives to the unit,
of course the extra drive needs power which tells you here that your Source (3A) should be enough to handle both
