I don't recall Maxtor and Seagate ever collaborating on a drive. Are you sure you can trust the label?

There are many Maxtor/Seagate drives out there!

For instance:

Hi Nuno,
the 2nd you've linked seem to be similar, exept for model name and first 3 digits on s/n
Fw version matches!
I guess it would not have the rom i need, even if is similar.

Maxtor DiamondMax corresponding to Barracuda 7200
DiamondMax20 -------> 7200.9
DiamondMax21 -------> 7200.10
DiamondMax22 -------> 7200.11

Weird, I now vaguely remember them. I think old age is setting in.

ISTR that in the early days of SATA, some SATA drives had an IDE MCU with a separate SATA-IDE bridge IC tacked onto the front end. I was wondering whether the SATA version of the OP's drive could have a SATA-IDE bridge embedded within a native IDE MCU. If that were the case, then both drives could use exactly the same firmware.

PCB mounted on this drive is 100368182 Rev A (IDE)
The relative sata pcb which probably would work on this drive should be 100355589

P.S.
I don't know if this ide pcb is the original, this drive was tampered by onother DR company before to be sent to me, maybe before that also by a computer shop/customer.
