Got a case today .Its a Mini SSD From a Mini Dell Lappie .I was Interested To Find Out If We Have a SATA/Pata/USB To Mini PCI-E Adapter For This for that we could use that and fire up our logical data recovery utils .In the Case i got the client tells me its locked .But i had no method to check the same as in my lab i had a lappie with mini pci-e slot but when i was inserting this into that the laptop would start automatically and there was no display .Read it on ebay that there is a Difference between mini pci-e and mini pci-e SSD .Can anyone point me to the right direction

Isn't that just a standard sata interface?
Connect it to any motherboard with sata and power connector.
Just make sure the conectors are the right way round!

Hi
@ dick
That is not a standard sata connector it's just a mini pci-e connector which is internally converted to sata by the motherboard...

@Amarbir

Here you go:

I stand corrected!
Somehow I completely confused it with my Micro sata interface which it is not!

Hi Amarbir

I think what he is trying to say is that the adapter is only compatible with those SSD's listed there....
Anyway, after more googling it looks that this is an PATA?? SSD not a SATA...Here is a link where you can find how to repair this SSD in case it shows 0 MB capacity....

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mi ... -bios.html

But be AWARE that this operation is data destructive so, if you want the data ,does not apply in your case...

In what notebook model was this mini SSD mounted? If you can write motherboard part number/model.
