their customer support said that maybe the newest firmware (http://www.supertalent.com/home/forum/v ... 74&t=10867 ) will help and furthermore that maybe all data will remain but they don't offer anything related to rescuing data. in other forums i read that drives in Yatapdong barefoot-rom mode will work maybe but be empty after firmware updates. it was about OCZ drives but apparently the same/similar controller

-will maybe replacing the controller help?
-can i get a PC 3000 or similar for rental?

Yesterday i put my Notebook from bed to desk and 5 minutes later just pulled the power. All was running fine. The next morning the problem was noticed.
the SSD was booted about 600 times and ran about 3000h with Windows XP, no wearing down was noticed like filesystem errors or files in Lost & Found directory.
In the last weeks it was nearly completely filled with data and a bit more slowly but appeared normal
(had a 32 GB before that went really slowly before it finally decided for read only mode…)
Maybe always when moving the notebook the SSD was under a bit of mechanical tension since the notebook case is not the most stable)

Likely PC3000 flash could recover data without disassembling drive and unsoldering chips from board. If you expect to use you drive in future you should go this way. If you'll get PC3000 flash and PC3000 udma either portable, I could help you to recover data by remote access to your computer. Otherwise my advice to bring your drive to data recovery center closed to you.

You can also send you drive to me, I'll recover your data for free and send drive back. You need only manage ship.

Although the stamp on the controller is Super Talent... This is a rebranded Indilinx Barefoot controller. PCB layout is exactly same that I saw on another drives.
The string "Yatapdong Barefoot-rom..." meens that the drive is working in emergency mode. For some reasons it is not able to start main firmware. May be firmware or some other structures are damaged. But i'm sure most of your data is still alive.

Also imagined, since the case of the SSD seems not perfectly closed on one site,

No. You need special tool for it: PC3000 UDMA and PC3000 Flash SSD.

Number of reasons:

At first it can depends on utility that updating firmware. I saw updating fw utilities that initially testing drive and starting searching for "bad" blocks procedure. This procedure usually looks like a number of read write cycles for each block. If an error occured then this block marks like "bad".

Second reason can be incompatibility of firmware versions. If new version has some modifications in service structures then it could not addressing pages with user data correctly.

Well, i know nothing about this capability of drives like yours.

About electromagnetic terror. I'm sure that your notebook could not make electromagnetic impulse of required power to kill all data stored on nand chips. So it can be recovered. I see two opportunities.
An error had occurred while drive was trying to save or modify some service structure. In this case your data can be extracted using PC3000 flash in addition to PC3000 udma board. You need connect your drive to the udma board by sata and start PC3000 flash soft that will extract your data.
The second opportunity is some unit of the board has fired or damaged. So drive can not initialize itself rightly. In this case may be special utility could not help. So you need to unsolder all nand chips and read them using special nand chip reader. And after try to assemble an image of your drive using special tools.

If all hardware components are fine (likely):
1.
Connect by SATA to PC3000
- What will be the price for just this when done professionally?

OR

2.find another way to fix by another software or manual commands on SATA port or by modified firmware updater/fix
- Who knows any rough guesses or details that could lead in this direction?

Otherwise, when there is hardware failure (unlikely):

3. unsolder NANDs.
- does it recover my whole partitions usually or only file types without names and folders?
- Failrate of overheating / break of NAND when done professionally = 5%?
- what will fair/average/cheapest price for that?

OR BETTER FIRST:
4. Find out which component is damaged and possibly by knowledge of PCB and components and simple resistance tests replace it? (afterwards "1.") - Anyone did that?

Final question: How to find PC3000 Owners 500km within Hamburg?

Actually, I don't hear that somebody fixed drive based on Indilinx conroller using terminal... Who told you that it is possible?
PC3000 Flash has special utility that working with a drive conected by SATA interface only. This utility doesn't require terminal connection to the drive. And I don't hear about other solution that gives same tools for working with ssd.

I didn't research firmwares of different manufactures, but my experience tells that most ssd models based on "barefoot" controller have similar firmwares (dumps of the nand chips are very similar). This is usually enough to recover data in many cases.

How to make a standalone ATA script? (MHDD? more directly?) What are possible errors that i can bypass this way?

Of course even if don't change anything i really want to learn how to talk to the SSD by ATA commands
and get any diagnostic answers from the SSD and post them here.

Someone please give any directions how to talk to the SSD and which are striking ATA- /vendor specific-commands here.

Anyone got a better plan about ATA and the controller,
how to go for it without PC3000 ?

IDX110M00 is relatively simple. As long as interleaved bytes are joined in correct order generally the case can be assembled. Recovery on these with commercial tool like PC3000 or FE likely cannot give 100% because none of these utilities support Sector updates function in this controller.

Ultimately, you need to get this looked at professionally
