Just got a stick with this problem - started all by itself. Media not accessible, shows up as raw, when I insert it I get the message that it needs to be formatted. But that's not possible, and I can't repartition it either. Recovery and formating software doesn't work. Also tried making a registry entry to turn off write protection, and that did nothing.
Not sure what else to tell you. Just ask if you need more info.
I btw also tried several different programs like GetDataBack, Minitool etc etc to recover data, but no partition is found, nor is any data.

Hi,
a Photo Would Help ?

Memory has degraded, bin it if you don't need the data
I'm assuming you don't need the data as you've been trying to format it!
If you do need the data, it's a "chip off" recovery which needs pro equipment and skills, not DIY

I actually need the data.. How do you know for sure it's degraded? Cant it be that the controller got messed up by removing the stick from the computer by just pulling it out in the middle of a file transfer, for example?

Chip off or bin it as pcimage suggested

Check in a HEX editor if there is something on it (except for 0x00)

How can I do that if I'm not able to access the device?
