Hi

I have a WD1200BB-00DAA3 that first he just made the heads clicking noises..
With a drive form the same family I was able to make a hotswap and save all the modules and SA tracks.
After that I connect the donor drive and copy the A and AS modules from the original drive. I made the hotswap again and this time I was able to read the sector 0. I open a task in data extractor but each time I tried to read other sector the drive stops reading. I tried a couple of times but all the times I was just able to read the sector 0.
What I did next was connect the donor drive again and copy all the B modules but when I power off/power on the drive never detect again.

Because I didn´t have other drive from this family to repair the one that gets damaged I replace the heads. After I replace the heads I was able to recognize the drive and create a task in data extractor but I have kind of the same problem again, I was just able to read the first sector.

Anyone already got a issue like this?
Do you guys have some suggestions?

Thanks

What does the DE task log say as far as errors? Also, what settings do you have in place for reading error and losing readiness tabs?

Hi

In the DE task the drive just tried to do a soft reset when I try to read any area and after that never detect again, the drive try to reestablish the ready state but ends to power off the drive.
Know I´m getting a different symptom, now each time I power on the drive, he recognize the ID but give me this error:

After this I don´t know what to do. If I heaved other hard drive from the same family I wold do a hotswap.
Any idea what I can try now?

Regards
