I have a WD drive that seems like it has bad media in the SA.
I can read the SA tracks in composite mode to get all of the data.
If I read individual heads I get sector errors at different spots.

I would like to move the SA tracks to not use the ones with errors.

Can anyone provide guidance or advice ?

Is it as simple as moving the modules within the bad areas and
adjusting the DIR module to point to the new location ?

Here is a brief summary for head 0 of the problem areas...

Either that or create a smart hotswap donor with the composite read tracks.

not having a lot of luck with the hotswap.
wrote the sa tracks to head 0, wrote rom+modules
repower donor -- it goes ready
standby the donor, move the board
any access just clicks

Is there an easy way to relocate modules, or do I have to calculate aba's manually ?

Format SA end translator SA recalculation and write modules in place.
But there is a risk that to gash SA.
So hot swap safer.
Аs a good rule not to write anything on the bad HDD,
if you need the data.
