Hi

Got this drive that can't ID...

After power on I get this:

Techno On............................... : Drive is not ready

Zone table.............................. : Zone table read error; Drive is not ready

G-List reading error.................... : G-List read error; Drive is not ready

CP Avalable............................. : 33,34,44,56,92,95,98,9A,9C,A2,A5,A7,A8,A9,AA,AD,AE ,B1,B3,BB,BF,C1,C5,C6,C7,C8,C9,CB,CD,D0,D1,D3,D4,D 6,D7,D9,DA,DB,DC,DD,EF,F1,F3,F4,F7,F8,FA,FB,FC,FF

The drive tries to calibrate (some very low noises) and sometimes can get Ready, other times, stay Busy.
Can this be only the G-list error?
I have tried to clean it, but I always get the drive Busy....
Thank You

Hello,
The Toshiba hdd stay busy because of continuous reading of bad area (Bad sector ) and assign it. when the damaged sector is read able then the hdd shows you ready status, some time it take about 30 minutes to become ready. after ready clear G list and extract data by cloning through MRT or pc3000.

Some times head or sub zones are damaged that's why it stay busy fro about 30 minute.

Regards
Waqas Ali

Yes, the case was closed with 100% recovery.
At least with this solution I could get the data.
