Almost certainly will have this PCB but you WILL need to transfer the ROM chip. Or we can do it for a small fee. PM or email if interested.

Hi
I have the same disk - WD Caviar WD1600JB and the pcb on mine burned out too..I watched it happen...!

Up until the the drive was working fine, I removed the pcb and can see the damaged chip, top right most chip on the pcb..which I am assuming is not the ROM chip referred to above..I assume that refers to the biggest square chip in the centre of the board?

So my point is, please, pcimage.co.uk, what would be the cost of returning the drive complete with damaged pcb for reference and matching, and having it returned to me with the replacement pcb installed including ROM transferral?

If you would prefer, please send an IM. As this is somewhat of an odd request, I have posted it here rather than via your web page.
