Hi pals, I'm not sure if this should be here or somewhere else but I would like to find out answers and I hope you can help.
If a hdd had been wiped with hdd wipe tool, is data recovery possible at all? What I understand is every byte had been re-initiated (set to zero) when wiped, am I correct? Can computer forensic be able to recover data after this process?

no not possible .

Thanks, I would like more replies to substantiate the claim because I've heard from a few sources claiming that computer forensic is able to recover data after a hdd was wiped. This is quite a dilemma.

You may try to search this forum, it's been discussed a number of times. It is impossible to recover data after a hard drive has been erased.

I agree, nothing can get your data back.

if u wiped all over with strong tools like pc3000 and salvation then not possible..

if you wrote "0"s to the drive the only recoverable data might come from erasing G-list and using winhex ect to read the sectors that were skipped in the re-write
