If P/N number has to match for you, refer to a data recovery pro to recover data from that drive.

BTW Why do you need the firmware for?.....It looks that you don't know much about hdds, so what do you do with firmware files?

I want the firmware to flash my hard-drive, chances are my hard-drive has got corrupted firmware.

Is there any way to backup the current firmware and write this new firmware, how do i go about doing that ?

Also all this has to be done via bootable diskette.

NO! NO! NO!

Your hdd is not a cellphone, you cannot simply "flash" firmware to/from HDD with freeby s/w.

Hello guys,

I have the same HDD (ST3250AS fw 3.AAC).

I was able to format track 0 using Seagate SeaTools
but all other "tests" fail

I am also able to create a partition (no errors) but I am not able to format it (error reading sector).

I was also able to run a MHDD scan starting from a certain sector, but even when I change the starting sector
each time the first one is unreadable while the rest are just fine like a new HDD.

It seems to me the HDD firmware is defective.

I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could help me out with this.
What can I do to make this drive work again?

Thank you.

You need specialized hardware and software so you can "touch" the firmware on this disk and knowledge of how to do it. Better to spend money for a new one with a warranty.

Thank you Samo,

I could try these when I have time. I think I already tried them tough.
Can I sell it to you? If you can use it for something. If yes - my skype is hypnologic
