No I didn't. I was trained (at my expenses) before.

Congratulations! You are unique in the annals of data recovery if you never ruined a drive while experimenting.

No I'm not the only one. Only some drives died by themselves in my hands while selfscanning but it was possible - I thought it was the selfscan, it was the drive itself instead.

What's incredibile ?

just ordered a SMD Hot Air Rework Station 952 Welding Soldering Iron a flux pen and solder paste :D

Im pretty certain a pro recovery would have been more suited considering the time and money your spending !

Why would you think a recovery pro is more suited...i already said this was for experience and practice.... maybe i dint anyway the HOT air tool isnt all that expensive the one i picked up was about 150USD off ebay... maybe i got rubbish but i will let you guys know once i get it.... and just for the record ... ive now done 4 swops with 75% success rate....

im goin to shell out some money and get a good tool been looking into pc3000 but 12k is a little steep at this moment maybe in the 3rd quarter of the year :) but im definately getting one :)

The 1 out of 4 maybe is not so happy...

Think that at production level when making boards, if the goal is make 1000 good boards, 1 out of 1000 bad may kill the net gain of the entire batch :D
This is why people's business and personal wealth doesn't grow : they don't think BIG !

Anyway, get an advice : don't buy china / ebay crap tools, buy PRO equipment that will last a lifetime, you'll always find spares and it won't betray you when you'll most need them. ;)
