I am speaking a simple language so guys like you can understand. I was talking about particular chipsets of PCBs, like ROM embedded, flash, etc., RAM, burn, NV-RAM etc. How it works, how it is written, what each segment of the hex code means etc.

Hi,

That pcb is definitely in bad condition, at least 2 ics I can see 'kipukkant'. So it is highly probable that the preamp is bad too. In that case it can be very dangerous to power the drive up with a good pcb, not only because it can damage the pcb, but because the damaged preamp can turn on writing for some heads inadvertently, spoiling the whole surface...
So If the data is important attempts should be stopped right here and consult somebody who knows what a preamp is.
