Hey all,

Help would be greatly appreciated, this isn't for a customer case; just tinkering around so it isn't *Critical*.

Looking for WD2000JS-98MHB0 firmware

revision: 02.01C03

I need all the modules if possible. (including translator)

Regards,

Nevermind all. I was able to locate a drive with matching firmware, and happy to say that my "experiment" was successful.

Needless to say I was able to repair the translator without the need for regeneration. (module 32, and G-List where unreadable)

Mostly a lucky case I would say, I am going to look into this more on this series and see if it is consistent.

Although you "repaired" the translator by copying from another drive, it's still not the original translator so there will almost certainly be data shifting.

I thought so to, but 100% of it is good, there was a bunch of data on it.

After more testing and checking, it looks like module 32 on these drives is not as unique as you would expect, and can be taken from a drive with matching firmware (even a different size in most cases)

This could be actually classified as a (2) module, or (b) whichever classification scheme is in use. (with 1, and a being considered unique to a drive)
