This loader is really rare, but i am quite sure, your drive have head problem and not FW damage...
You are in big trouble, because you will need to align the heads if you want to replace!

The hard disk is seen in hd doctor but can load properly, there are no sounds that would be indicate damage to the head...
At first I thought that hdd doctor will not see it because it is possible that this model is not supported by the hdd doctor at all, but he see all parametars (mode,fw,sn,lba), just when load from drive his load some basic parametars and then get error...
if I would have proper FW and boot file, then could determine with certainty what is the problem with this drive...

Ah, got the point!

I have no SD maxtor doctor, but i am quite sure it is not supported, because this drive is quantum technology, and the FW is quantum structure inside.
Completely different than the diamondmax series....

I have the needed loader anyway, but this is for PC3000, and i am 99.99% sure, you don't need it, because the problem is somewhere else.

Agree with Mr.Janos. This Quantum has a different FW structure inside, so the SD doctor for Maxtor can not deal with it.

This helps only if the original PCB is bad.
Other cases, i don't think so.

This is not supported in SD Tools for Maxtor. Sorry you need other tools in order to deal with this one. Janos is right on this one. You will not fix this with SD tools even if you have FW for it which is impossible in this tool. Sorry.

Thanks for all your post, i am convinced that my hdd doctor will not help in this case, so I'll send it to associate with a pc3k
maybe he can tries something i do not want to destroy the data of my customers...
There is a strong possibility as Janos said that the heads are defective to...
