Truth is there is no inexpensive tools for one time recovery work. PC3000 is a 10K tool. You might check on SD Seagate tool this one might work for you and what you want to do. It is a lot less than PC3000.

Thank you guys.
They don't provide on site recovery, and I can't take the risk to send the drive out.
By least expensive I meant something like pc3000 portable ...or pc3000 for seagate (if there is such a product)
Don't know which one have firmware modification, There are actually so many Product names
from AceLab,SD,Atola,... suggestion?
btw its kind of like $6000-$7000 how ever it might be $10,000 for USA/CANADA

I got SD Seagate and saved me about $6000 the good thing is they shipped fast and also offer remote assistant on your first recovery. with the product . Which in my case is the only one.
Thank you for your help.

I donno if such a comparison is allowed here or not
But hdddoctor have nothing less compare to pc3000 ,in hardware level ! maybe in some parts even better
but it really sucks at software level it's like the coder first instruction to programming ,
I know it’s the code that carries the actual worth.
But for those of you how know hard drive good enough and only need an interface to the drive to code
their own recovery tool or experiment with the drive it might be a good choice.

another concern is privacy as some parts of the software which is not related to any functionality is heavily
encrypted which makes most AV detect it as Trojan . any one can explain functionality
of that part which is encrypted using themida (it's usually hackers choice of crypto ) to clear these concerns ?

Thank you

btw I'm not posting these in favor of one's competitors

Problem in both is that you will need to know what todo to a drive if the built in functions dont work.
Hd doctor seagate might be on par with pc-3000 but only for seagate not rest. Hd doctor for seagate is not to bad- but if something goes wrong- you need to know exactly what todo in the terminal or how to fix the situation or else SD tool will go stupid and crash.
Not sure what you mean with the encryption? Any data copied will be as it is- encrypted decrypted or corrupted. It makes no difference what data it is.
But to use SD tools you cannot have any AV running- it uses functions that AV will stop and cause problems

What he is talking about is the progamming code for the SD Seagate Doctor. The one you install to make the tool work. He has found it is heavly encrypted. This is the problem he is finding on this program. But this is also the case on the UDMA program they do this to protect their coding so people can not crack it and copy it.

Oh right. That makes sense.

I found that there are no hostile code is in that encrypted part .you are right .I really should have investigated before posting .
Just that no other commercial well known product use this as protection this is malware spasific unfortunately they didn't even used it correctly .
Crack is out of question because registration and part of the code is being saved permanently on the device
after that you may have
as many software installation as you like ,which works . this makes cracking profit margin very low if any
their general programming team and the English translator degraded the effort of harddrive technology experts of SD.
however the product still worth more than its price mostly because of their fast response and online support .

btw:
I didn't found any UDMA related code , since the drive should also support it they cant use their own secret version of
udma on device .and normally it is connected to actual bus
(virtual bus for usb connected hdddoctor ) not on user software package .I think I got you wrong ?
