Greetings from Houston.

I have a WD WD5000KS removed from a WD MyBook. When inside the enclosure, it didn't do anything. I opened up the case and installed the drive in my computer, and it just clicks, tries another 2 times then goes silent.

I have cracked open the drive case, everything looks good. I removed the pcb and everything appears in order. I cleaned the board according to the instructions in the WD sticky. I came looking for a pcb, but if anyone has any advice, I am all ears.

PCB# 2061-701383-E00 AC
XW 3H11 17JL 1 0001350 6351

Thanks!

99% chance it is not PCB, but heads

Send to a pro I'm afraid, and not just any one, one can actually handle these drives.

Please do not even consider DIY on this model, you have absolutely ZERO chance of performing a successful head swap on this one.

Sorry if it's not what you want to hear, but it's a fact on this particular drive.

They can be successfully managed with proper gear and knowledge, but are more complicated than many other models
