 Post subject: Samsung HD501LJ starting calibrate then power off

Hi guys

I have Samsung HD501LJ which unlatching and trying to calibrate then power off.
With the following error message on terminal.
PCB issue?

I do not think this is PCB issue. I think you have some damaged SA modules. If you have donor you can perform HotSwap and then on recalibration you can check SA structure for obvious damaged mods. Could be you have bad ALIST?

Alternatively you can hotswap and read patient modules then write appropriate modules to donor then after second hotswao you can get data.

Normally SA problem, LED 5B but this is B5 :)

I misread that :oops:

Maybe try HotSwap anyway? Even if PCB is defective HotSwap should still allow access to SA.

I had this same problem with a HM500LI where terminal reply showed LED5B. I hotswapped the disk and cleared the A-list and the SMART, powered off the disk, placed the orignial PCB on the disk worked again :)
