Hi guys... Congratulations, great forum. I've read lots of interesting topics + the newbie area  ...
A brief story of what it is: Today I bought a Maxtor Fireball 3 (to add to my SG Barracuda). Everything was good 'till I got a failure message at "Primary Slave ARES C64K" Then I googled it and came to your forum.
I've downloaded a loader from here (well not all numbers are the same but I picked-up the closest) "2F040L0 710651.rar".
Of course as I said there is some issues.
I didn't understood how to put the drive into safe mode. How can I start PC3K(how, where). Do I have to remove my Master drive when I load it...

Explain it in a few steps please

you won't be able to fix this without expensive tools.

Are you talking just for PC3K or u have something else in mind? If it's only PC3K let's guess that I can find a way to use it...

How much did you pay for that drive? $5-10?

I would suggest to buy a new one, not old drive and use it.

Actually I bought it from something like a sale. About the price 5$. My Barracuda is enough. But I just like to do something. And today I'm trying to make this work.
I've just read something for a software called HD Doctor for Maxtor...
