Hello, this is my first time on this site,

The hard drive starts up, I can hear the drive spin but then there is a clanking noise. The sound is periodic and evenly spaced and after it clanks a few times, numbering from about 4-6 to only twice, it will slow down. It then starts back up and clanks again like it restarted and the problem is still there, obviously. The computer can't detect the hard drive at all from what I can tell but I have only checked the bios... I have never had any hard drive problems and apologize for not knowing more. I have read some stuff and watched some videos on youtube.

The model number is WD2500JD - 00READ
And the date is 24 May 2007

I have not tried to do much other than just turn it on and off. It started making is sound on Tuesday, December 21st 2010. In the morning after I started the computer.

The picture is not my hard drive but one of the same model and company with an earlier date.

Internal problem most probably heads related or FW fault that require pro intervention and diagnose.
