Hello,

I've got HD321KJ and need to perform a head swap.
I've encountered problem during removing the magnet, I am not exactly sure which way it shall be removed ?
Please see attachment, I've took 2 photos showing magnet view.

In the past I've successfully made head swap in SV1203N and SP1213N, in these HDD's the magnet was not splitted to top or bottom magnet - it was one part. So I had to remove it carefully moving the whole thing to the left side.

But in this case the HDA is blocking its movement to the left side.
I don't want to use force at the moment, so if anybody has got an advice of how to do it I will appreciate any comments.
Thanks in advance,

in fact You are right, but I mean if there is a situation like here, please take a look to this movie (03:17)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9AoMeHRIPU

Of course there are 2 magnets, but the bottom and top part are connected together, so while removing it, the magnet looks like one part.

My magnet exchanger tool from Salvation Data couldn't handle it, I had to lever it up with another tool, and I removed it successfully. Thanks for help guys.

Some drives are tricky. I like the Raptor drive magnets . . . they are surprisingly strong, and the bottom one is held to the chassis with a bit of adhesive.

The funny thing about these videos is that they never show the drive being hooked up to a computer and the data being copied off after the "surgery."

The heads loading / unloading process was completely wrong, and likely to cause damage.

I think these kinds of videos really end up doing the end user a disservice, although they may think at the time that they are being clever and helpful.

I feel sorry for people who actually use these videos and end up with data loss.

There are 2 magnets. It's like a Seagate magnets(not exactly the same, of course, but similar)
