Please read the forum rules - the language used here is English :)

Your first post was not completely clear. You said that you wanted to install WinXP - but then you say that you want to recover data. Why did you not save the data that you wanted onto another disk / flash drive / etc., before you started to install WinXP? Therefore this story is not clear.

Therefore it seems like you broke the important rule about data recovery - do not write onto the media, from which you want to recover data. :(

It actually says this on the Ontrack webpage for Easy Recovery:
Quote:
IMPORTANT: To avoid overwriting data, do not download or install EasyRecovery on to the media or partition on which you are experiencing data loss.

This is also the same reason why you should not have installed WinXP onto a disk from which you wanted to recover data :(

Any data which you have overwritten, by installing WinXP and the Ontrack software, is now lost :(

There are other techniques and software that you can try, in order to recover files which have not yet been overwritten. However there is a risk you could make recovery even more difficult (or impossible), if you make even more mistakes. Therefore if your data is important, or if you are not confident in your technical abilities, then I recommend that you stop - then consider getting some local expert help, instead of doing more "DIY".

Only you can decide how much your data is worth - your data; your risk; your choice :)
