Hi,

i need firmware for Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 ATA/133 40 GB harddisk;

Code:NAR61EA0
Model:6E040L0711014
Serial:E10S5A3N
K,MG,A

Date:16SEP2004

i tried other maxtor firmwares but i couldnt access files...in sector view, only i can see sector 0.
and also even though i worked in safe mode, when i click View PList, it modified card's original plist table.it didnt create a backup of original P-List table.

I think original P-List overwritten and corrupted. Then i tried upload the p-list again. but P-list showed error. Again and agin i tried, finally p-list completely corrupted . What must i do? I have to recover it. is there any solution? Please help me.

if there is a poblem in P-List, can it be recoverable? What should i do? Please help me.

Sincere.

Why are you over writing your plist in the first place. In Maxtor DR if you have problems in mods on this one and some are corrupted you can never view your plist on this. If what you say is true first time you tried to read your plist and it was readable did you get a plist.bin file on this one. It should of saved it in your program file and under the NAR61EA0 file folder on this. Look in there and find it if you did get a back up of the plit. But you should never try and over write this plist with a donor and work with it ever. You need to correct the problems in the mods that is preventing you for reading your plist in the first place. If you have errors in some mods you will never read your plist in this one. You have to load in safe mode from file. Then you have to load your boot.cod, ROM and mods to the HDD. Then you reset it so it powers off and on recycle. Once motor starts again you can view your mod table here and run a test on it. To see what mods are bad. There are certain mods that you never over write in this even if they are bad. They have to do with plist, glist, and some smart. There is a listing of mods in the maxtor manual that you do not change ever. Look through the manual this one is detailed in there and really well explained on what to do and what not to do when working in the mods on this drive.

If you do not have a back up of this plist and you are working in it and playing around with it as you indicate here in this post I feel you might be out of luck in your recovery efforts. Before you ever start to play with a drive read the book that comes with the tool and understand your problem on this one. Especially if you are working in SA. You need to find out what mods are bad from the beginning on this and fix this problem before you can go on and read your plist in this tool.

hi
i agree with Poehere, but i'd like also to ask exactly which PLIST module number did you overwrite as you have 2 copies ... hoping you only overwrote 1 (eg. mod 51).
check as told you the bin file created by the utility.. N40P are not easy to screw .. did you saved groups?
Let us know so we can help you
Bye
Luca
