I guess I missed that ad
Since when it's a DIY forum?

Anyway, about your problem. Buy a PCB which looks like yours and swap flash. If you lucky it's gonna work.
No tricks with this but because you don't know it's a PCB problem - no guarantee either
There is a chance that you could fry flash or preamp and that would make recovery much more difficult and expensive

If you need a guarantee in recovery then it is better to find a professional

Plain and simple advice.

Thank you.

not doing anything but telling me to go get it looked at by some HDD repair shop, blah blah blah...

That's the best advice but you are too angry to understand that now

If that's the best advice and the only advice anyone was/is willing to give out publicly for fear of breaking trade secrets, why have a forum dedicated to "Data recovery and HDD repair discussions" Yes, that's under the title of the forum. If there is only one option that people are willing to offer, why have a forum full of people discussing other options? :?

As you mentioned it's "Data recovery and HDD repair discussions" not "Data recovery and HDD repair DIY" or "Data recovery and HDD repair FAQ"

I have similar question to you - What did you GIVE to this forum? How is you presence here would help other members? You want the answer for you problem but you didn't bother to even click a "search" button yet you angry because you got answer which you don't like

Let us know how your DIY went

Well look who has a whiny sense of entitlement now? Ha! Clearly Jono, you can see from my profile I work in Law Enforcement. Do you really need more info than that? I'm a cop. It says Federal Law Enforcement right there, I know you saw that, and that's why you asked. Back to my original statement though, what on earth does that have to do with anything?

You guys are worthless, whining and moaning about me not telling you my vocation, not doing anything but telling me to go get it looked at by some HDD repair shop, blah blah blah... Why even have these forums if you can't offer some DIY tips for people? One look through Thatdellguy's profile and you can see that 80% of the garbage he posts is negatively based, a lot of good advice he's offering people there..

I've followed the help offered from the people who PM'd me. I'll post the progress when there is something worth posting.[/quote]

No sense of entitlement here. Just call 'em as I see 'em.
