Figured. Didnt really want to do it, but the boss insisted. Got the new heads in and i get the drive ready and spot check on DE gave me readable sectors in the begining and the end and the middle ETC , basicaly every step of the way. However trying to let it go and image - breaks into the clicking and starts reading without ECC + slowly, need to powercycle and play with the lid again. Well , i wash my hands =) he can keep playing with the lid +)

When AS , LCT or one of the family comes for DR I always ask the customer "Are you in a rush ?"
BECAUSE in German someone would say: "Die eile geht nicht mit dem glanz zusamen" ... in other words : after the physical part is done, it takes the right time with the right strategy to get the data out....

am i a lucky duck or what. =) 50% imaged with just a handfull of time outs ( on a fast primary pass mind you so they will probably get picked up ) Still going strong. But i destroyed ~5 screws doing it =)
Tightened back screw fully and played with the top lid ones only.
Hope i didnt jinx it now =)

Job done =) Was getting assorted sectors here and there , but was no need. The data the client needed was at the 1st 15% of the drive.

Now as a matter of curiosity. What is worse , Quantum plus or WD EB/BB.
Cheers all =)
