 Post subject: motor stuck + head demage on 7200.11

Hi, i wanted to replace head stack,
but the motor is stucked,
after i removed the head stack,
i try to brutal force the motor but no way to move it.
any kind suggestions are wellcome.

do not want to platter swap,i'll leave it for last chance.
i have put more brutal force on motor stuck,
now i can move it, by hand, with some force.
but it is still hard to move himself alone..

Non funzionera' MAI come vuoi fare tu. Sembra il tipico caso da manuale di drive caduto con motore bloccato e danneggiato, 3 zone danneggiate che potrebbero danneggiare il nuovo stack (non si vede bene dalla foto) non appena ci va sopra, senza contare che si vede solo il lato superiore.
Il motore in queste condizioni non funziona correttamente, ci sono "altri" problemi, e puo' esserci un danno sulla service area. Bel casino ! Fatti tutti i controlli del caso PRIMA.

The way you want to do it, WON'T WORK. Seems a typical academic case of fallen drive with stuck spindle, 3 damaged zones that can kill new headstack (photo is unclear) as soon as head reaches that area, and moreover we see only top platter.
Spindle is not working correctly in this condition, there are "other" problems and you may have also a SA damage. What a mess ! Make a thorough check BEFORE EVERYTHING.

Sì, ti confermo che il drive è caduto dalla scrivinia del cliente..
Domanda: il cliente dice che il drive era spento,ma con quei segni e la testina danneggiata, è mai possibile?

yes, i confirm that the drive dropped down from the customer desktop..
Question: the customer said that the drive was off, but with that scratch and head demage, could be possible?

Sinche' era spento, forse il danno era limitato alla testina danneggiata.
Poi di sicuro ha voluto vedere se funzionava ancora.... :mrgreen:

Until the drive was off, maybe the damage was limited to broken head.
Then most probably he wanted to see if it was still working.... :mrgreen:
