I am not having any luck finding a good enough match for a WD800JD-75LSA0 to do a head stack replacement. Per the available guidelines, the 5th and 6th character of the DCM needs to match for a head stack change out to be successful and I can't find a donor with XXXXCVXXX in the DCM.

My question is whether a WD with a slightly different model number work. For instance, will a WD800JD-00LSA0 or a WD800JD-60LSA5 work? I realize I can just buy these and give them a try, but would prefer not to if someone would be willing to offer any assistance. BTW, I do have all the gear needed to do the swap successfully.

WD800JD-75LSA0 and WD800JD-00LSA0 are the same family.

They are doable, especially if the lid isn't removed or disturbed by a third party . . .

We had one sent from another shop that had been at yet another. By the time I received it, there wasn't much I could do.

These take special gear AND special techniques. You have to know WD pretty well, IMHO.
